WW2 Submarine Wreck expedition in Strait of Hormouz

In cooperation with Dubai BSAC, DSDC, ISE plans a research and exploration expedition searching for a WWII Submarine Wreck in the Arabian Golf and the Strait of Hourmouz starting around 15th of Novemver 2010. We will post more information as soon as we progress with planning.

THE REEF

..it always comes back to the definition of exploration. I´m sure that one or another will not see in the first place what the exploration part in this one is - but it is..

In July 2009 while teaching in Mallorca, Olivier Borgognon introduced the plan of creating an artificial reef on a sandy patch off his divecenter in Illetas / Malloca. (read more)

THE VIKING MAPPING PROJECT.

September 2nd to 5th 2010 ISE is launching an archeological survey project off the coast of Denmark.
Aim of the project is to map and survey three wrecks off the coast of Nykobing whose history remain a mystery althought the existance of the ships is known to local divers since the 60s.  The project is lead by Danish ISE Instructor Morten Dall Damer togeher with ISE president Achim Schloeffel

This is an "old" project that was started basically back in the ´90s and had its peak (and publishing) around 2004. As we continuously kept working on it and might give it a real restart due to the new Sidescan Sonar we decided to put it online again.

Tough choice: if You have to drive 1000 km to the boat just to spend another 10 hrs on that You want to pick Your companionship carfully. I´m lucky – ISE´s Vicepresident Norbert Eder is not only my best friend but also one of the finest technical divers around, so I basicly shared the ride with my three favorite buddies ..:-)

Report on the "Baltic - May 2008" explorations.

On 12 to 16 May 2008, a team of scuba divers performed a series of dives from the NEREIDA ship board in the area to the north of Władysławowo. The explorations were made in accordance with a permit issued by the Director of the Maritime Office and dated 9 May 2008 (letter PM4-AB-756-06/08). Due to adverse weather conditions, the works were carried out on two days only, 14 to 16 May 2008. Their principle was to search for objects in the areas of “fishing boat obstacles” with a sonic depth finder. The aim of the dives was to make an inspection and attempt to make a video recording.
